1. Information we collect

• Your email address — to deliver your package and send you a sign-in link.
• Your order information — what you purchased and when.
• The business description you enter — so we can generate names that fit it.
• Payment information — handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
• Basic usage data — standard technical information your browser sends, used to keep the service working.
• Your acknowledgment record — the first time you download or use an asset, we record the name you type, your account email, the date and time, and the version of the terms you accepted, so both you and we have a record that you reviewed and agreed to them before use.
• Assets you create or download — the brands, designs, and documents generated for you, kept so you can return to them.

2. How we use your information

We use it to generate and deliver your Brand Identity Strategy, process your payment, let you access your purchased brands, provide support, and improve the service. We also keep a record of the terms you accepted before downloading, so we can show what you agreed to if a question ever arises. We do not sell your personal information.

3. Service providers we rely on

To run SparkMyName we use trusted third parties, each with its own privacy practices:

• Stripe — secure payment processing.
• Supabase — secure storage of your account and packages, and passwordless sign-in.
• Resend — delivery of your package and sign-in emails.
• Netlify — secure hosting and delivery of the website.
• OpenAI — the business description you enter is sent to generate your names. Don’t include sensitive personal information in that description.

4. Cookies and local storage

We use minimal cookies and browser storage — mainly to keep you signed in and to carry your request through checkout. We do not use them for advertising.

5. Data retention

We keep your account and the brands and assets you’ve created so you can return and access them. We also retain your acknowledgment records — the terms you accepted, with your name, email, date, and version — as part of our business and legal records, and we may keep these even after an account is deleted, to the extent needed to establish what was agreed to or to comply with law. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see Section 6).

6. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing hello@sparkmyname.com. We’ll respond within a reasonable time. Note that we may retain certain limited records — such as the terms you accepted before downloading — where we have a legal or legitimate business reason to keep them.

7. California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

This section is written for California residents and uses the terms defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA). We’re providing these disclosures as a matter of good practice and transparency, whether or not SparkMyName meets the statutory revenue or data-volume thresholds that trigger CCPA’s full requirements for a given business.

Categories of personal information we collect

• Identifiers — your email address.
• Commercial information — records of what you purchased and when.
• Internet or network activity — basic technical/usage data your browser sends, used to keep the service working.
• Your submitted content — the business description you type, and the brand assets generated from it.

We do not knowingly collect precise geolocation, biometric information, health information, government ID numbers, or other “sensitive personal information” as CPRA defines that term, and payment card details are handled entirely by Stripe — we never receive or store your full card number.

Sources

We collect personal information directly from you (what you type or submit), and automatically through your use of the site. Our payment processor (Stripe) confirms order and payment status back to us; it does not send us your card number.

Purposes

See Section 2 above — generating and delivering your Brand Identity Strategy, processing payment, account access, support, and improving the service.

Do we sell or share personal information?

No. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. The service providers listed in Section 3 process data on our behalf, under confidentiality and purpose-limitation terms, to run SparkMyName — that is not a sale or a share under the law.

Your California rights

• Right to know — what personal information we’ve collected, used, disclosed, and the categories of sources and recipients.
• Right to delete — ask us to delete personal information we’ve collected from you, subject to certain legal exceptions (see Section 5 on retention).
• Right to correct — ask us to fix inaccurate personal information we hold about you.
• Right to opt out of sale/sharing — not applicable here since we don’t sell or share; there is nothing to opt out of.
• Right to limit use of sensitive personal information — not applicable; we don’t collect sensitive personal information as CPRA defines it.
• Right to non-discrimination — we will not deny you goods or services, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of quality because you exercised any of these rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@sparkmyname.com from the email address on your account (this is how we verify a request came from you); if you can’t use that address, tell us why and we’ll ask for other reasonable verification. You can also have an authorized agent submit a request on your behalf — we may still ask you to verify your own identity directly. We’ll respond within 45 days, or let you know if we need a one-time 45-day extension.

Shine the Light (Cal. Civ. Code §1798.83)

We do not share your personal information with third parties for those third parties’ own direct marketing purposes, so there is nothing to disclose under this separate California law.

8. Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including passwordless “magic-link” sign-in so there is no password to be stolen. No method of transmission or storage is ever 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.

9. Children

SparkMyName is intended for adults building businesses and is not directed to anyone under 18. Please do not use the service or provide information if you are under 18.
